Writing was the start, communication made it possible, reading carried it on and so the animal known as man began to rule the world.
On the left bank of the Euphrates River in 1996 Syrian-French archaeologists discovered, some very odd stone slates bearing engraved graphics. The plates were from the New Stone Age 9,000 years ago. The oldest known alphabet is the Phoenician, dated 3,500 years ago, and Ugaritic, on the Syrian coast.
Today toymakers and turners make pens from wood, indeed many other materials, then with a simple kit turn it into the most powerful tool ever know to mankind.
